Matthew 7:15 “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves.

This is so sad. It’s heartbreaking to know that so many people still listen to people like Osteen.

Below is an excerpt from the story. You can read the full story at unitedforawaking.com

According to Joel Osteen – Pastor of Lakewood Church in Houston, Texas, these first century apostles are wrong and outdated and he has come out boldly to infer indirectly that Apostles Paul, Peter, and John whom wrote much of the New Testament were wrong and need to be corrected and rebuked.

When asked directly if people whom are openly practicing homosexuals are accepted into the Kingdom, Joel Osteen responded with “Absolutely, anybody is.”

We all need to listen carefully to the words that this “man of God” speaks as he goes on interviews so we too can find the errors in the preaching of the first century apostles.

Joel does acknowledge that some things are “sin” but says, “I don’t address these things from the pulpit. They only come up in interviews.” When asked if openly practicing gay/homosexual people will be accepted into heaven, Joel Osteen responded, “I believe they will.”

  1. Pamela Hengst says:

Better read your Bible, Pastor. You are playing with fire and misleading lots of folks. What is your real agenda?

  2. Andrew Slone says:

Osteen; You will give an account of this to God you have 40,000 people who are following you and you are leading them down the wrong wake up Man and see what you are doing to all these people. You are teaching false doctrine, you are wrong I every way.

  3. Deborah says:

I have never actually heard him preach a message. I have heard him talk a lot but he never “preaches” I think false prophet fits well in his case.

  4. Cheryl Stiles says:

I believe Joel knows exactly what he is doing and does not believe he will be punished for it……he knows he is going against Gods will but is willing to ‘gamble’. He knows he is wrong. But just can’t quite give up all that money!!

  5. steve says:

Is this a true? are there any videos showing him saying this? if so then we should pray that his eyes are opened before its to late.

  6. all the money you pump out of the poor fools want save your soul from the fire of a devils hell . repent and be saved!!!!!!………

  7. Lee says:

Joel Osteen is way off. It’s either God’s Word or his word. I will stand on God’s word.
    Romans 3:4
    King James Version (KJV)
4 God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and mightest overcome when thou art judged.

  8. KsWriter says:

Joel Osteen didn’t say any such thing. The writer of this article took things Joel said and “interpreted” them as if Joel was rebuking the apostles. He never did any such thing. The people who will have to give an accouont to God on that day are the ones who lie about and judge their brothers and sisters. The people who spread false rumors. I would suggest that those of you reading this article ACTUALLY read the article. Joel didn’t say these things. So now who is being false?

    • AntonM says:

Can you please tell me where I can find the original article?? Thank you.

      • fram21 says:

I provided the link near the top of the post. It says you can read the full story at… And then I click on that link.

    • Rebecca Holleman says:

Wake up. Joel Osteen admitted to the refusal of talking about Sin and other behavior’s leading to Damnation. God is not Santa Claus; therefore changing your thinking is not the key to Salvation. In order for God to bless you, you must walk in the path of righteousness. This is not a message of condemnation, but a message of truth. Joel Osteen and his followers, including you, are GOING STRAIGHT TO ETERNAL FIRE. God bless your soul.

  9. I would like to get a copy of the video of Joel rebuking the apostles. Anyone know?

  10. fuzzy says:

The Bible writers wrote “the Lord’s commandments” [1 Cor.14:37] and every word of the Bible is verbally inspired by God [2 Tim.3:16-17]. So when Joel Osteen rebukes the apostles, he rebukes the Lord himself!

  11. Ashitaka1110 says:

Joel Osteen preached ONCE in his life before taking over Lakewood…and he NEVER WENT TO A SEMINARY. The man is a pastor in self-described-name-only. He’s a heretic, and has absolutely no Biblical basis for half the things he says.

  12. AntonM says:

    Galatians 1:8&9
8.But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
9 .As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.

  13. TJ says:

Where is the source video for this?

The article you link to is a dead end. i.e. Peter M. Martinez gives no source and his quote is, “he has come out boldly to infer indirectly that Apostles Paul, Peter, and John whom wrote much of the New Testament were wrong and need to be corrected and rebuked…”

Quote “…he has come out boldly to infer indirectly…” Unquote.

    Wow.

Did you verify this before you published? Did you make calls to allow parties to confirm or deny Mr. Martinez’ allegations?

I have searched and searched for this in video files, all over the internet but they just link back to Mr. Martinez.

We, as christians, need to be slow to speak (write)… The internet is buzzing with this and I think it’s just a made-up gossip story written by Mr. Martinez, but a lot of people who run christian blogs are running this without any confirmation.

    • James says:

i would alos like the actual quote. i watched the interview with larry king and what donnie swaggert preached or read from script from CNN and it verifies Joel thinks everyone is going to heaven, but i did not hear or see about rebuking apostles as of yet.

  14. Sean Creamer says:

Quit looking for the devil in others and remove the mote, from your own face.

  15. Rebecca Holleman says:

Joel Osteen is a feel-good / cotton-candy “preacher!” He has a huge platform, and the ability to change the World. Preach on Homosexuality, adultery, idolatry, sexual immorality, and other behaviors that are SENDING PEOPLE TO HELL. Joel, fight for God to get back in the school systems. Joel, educate family member that their loved ones are going to suffer tremendously here on Earth if they are GAY!!! Joel, inform people to repent and turn their life over to JESUS.

  16. Jeanne Oak says:

This would be so sad if it were true. I see him as uplifting. It would break my heart to make a desision to not listen to him because of this teaching. But if he does teach against the absolutely true Word of God, I would have to decide on God and His word alone. Jesus said that “Man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that comes out of the mouth of God.” There’s a difference in believing in Christ and taking up your cross and following Christ.

  17. Chris Brown says:

Just watch the full interview and he didn’t come out and say that he did say homosexuality is a sin and to get to heaven there is a need to repentance. He did talk in circles when he should of be straight forward. However, this article is not telling the truth

  18. V Goldstone says:

I can not find the video clip or actual interview – I really would like to see and hear this pastor actually say this. For now its just second party and third party talk.
