Christian Wrestling Federation

Having been a huge pro wrestling fan as a child, I thought it was really cool when I came across the Christian Wrestling Federation website. CWF is an evangelical outreach using the platform of pro wrestling to reach people for Christ. Below is the mission statement on the CWF site as well as a news story done by CBS 11 news in Rockwall, TX.

CWF’s Vision: To be a Christian outreach ministry that shares the love of Jesus Christ, through wrestling events around the world.

CWF’s Mission: the CWF is a group of talented athletes using amazing feats, athletic ability, and entertaining stories to share the gift of Jesus Christ. The CWF uses a unique evangelistic approach to embrace the youth of today. CWF Events are conducted in communities, churches, conferences, and festivals to spread the message of Jesus’ love. God has drawn many different groups to CWF shows, telling us that God transcends any age, color, social status, popularity and spiritual stature.

The Bible says we are to use unique and different ways to reach people for Christ. This is what the CWF is all about… reaching people in a unique way. With wrestling’s popularity at an all-time high, many people can be reached, and in turn, our goal is to convert them to Christ’s love.

The focus of the CWF is to win souls for Christ. Our passion is seeing the lost become saved. The CWF would love to come to your church or city and be a strong evangelistic tool for you. The CWF is committed to anything we can do to honor Christ and the local church.

Our beliefs:

The Christian Wrestling Federation:

Believe in the Bible to be the inspired, infallible and authoritative Word of God, without error in the original writings…

Believe in one God, creator of all things, infinitely perfect and eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son & Holy Ghost…

Believe that all men have sinned and come short of the Glory of God and that for the Salvation of the lost and sinful men, regeneration by the Holy Spirit through faith in our Lord Jesus Christ is absolutely essential…

Believe in the Deity and virgin birth of our Lord Jesus Christ, that He died upon the cross as a substitutionary sacrifice for the sin of the world, that He rose from the dead and ascended into Heaven, from whence He will return with Power & Glory…

Believe in the doctrine of justification by faith, realizing that it is impossible for man, through works, to save himself, “Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God, through our Lord Jesus Christ.” (Romans 5:1)…

Believe in life after death. “… that there shall be resurrection of the dead, both of the just & unjust.” (Acts 24:15)…

Believe in the resurrection of the saved into everlasting life in heaven and the resurrection of the lost or unsaved into eternal punishment…

Believe in the eternal security of the true believer, but our focus is not a presentation of doctrine, only a simple presentation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ…

Believe and are committed to clearly communicating a Bible-based theology…

Our focus in ministry in all churches is a communication of the cross, a message of a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a 100% commitment in a Godly daily walk with Christ. Our model for presentation of ministry is Dr. Billy Graham.

Concerning the gifts of the Spirit, we leave this up to the teaching of the local pastor. Publicly or privately we do not discuss the gifts of the Spirit (we never mention terms such as tongues, etc.

Concerning the prosperity doctrine, we are absolutely opposed to the thought of the “name-it, claim-it” mentality and spirituality being linked to financial status. Some of the most Godly people in the world are in abject poverty. We believe you prosper as your soul prospers. We believe God can & does move in financial blessings. God can and does honor faith and God can and does meet needs. God moves in wondrous ways whenever He wants and however He wants.

Concerning Divine healing, we believe God can and does heal, but not everyone is healed. Those who are not healed on earth, we believe will be healed in heaven. God does whatever He wants to and none of us will totally understand why until we get to heaven.

The speaking slot just prior to Marco Rubio on the last night of the RNC Convention is still “To Be Determined.”

The identity of this mystery speaker has been a hot topic of the convention amongst the media and blogosphere. Conservative site Town Hall is reporting that the speaker may be Hollywood superstar Clint Eastwood. Other names being throw around include Sarah Palin, Donald Trump, Colin Powell, Gen. Stanley McChrystal, Nancy Reagan, Joe Lieberman (hope not), and even Tim Tebow.

Some wildcard picks I think may be possibilities include Gen. David Petraeus, Newt Gingrich, Michelle Bachmann, or even former President George Bush (41 or 43).

Hopefully it’s someone worthwhile and the GOP doesn’t drop the ball.

Harvest America Is Tonight

20120826-112846.jpg

Harvest America is happening tonight. It could turn out to be one of the biggest out reaches ever in America.

The idea of the event is to live stream the Anaheim Harvest Crusades throughout the country at different churches, movie theaters, homes and other locations.

Then when it comes time for the alter call, people in the churches, theaters and other Locations would go forward just as those in Angel Stadium to receive the Lord. There would be individuals at each location to counsel the new believers to begin their walk.

Tonight’s line up is as follows. The Harvest praise band will lead worship followed by mini concerts from both Mercy Me and Jeremy Camp. Then Pastor Greg Lauire will deliver a message titled “Is it possible to change your life?” Then of course comes the most important part, the alter call.

It’s a great event to invite a lost friend or family member to.

You can find a location near you by clicking here. The event begins at 4 p.m. Pacific.
